Mary Kay, here I come!

I signed up to be Mary Kay Independant Beauty Consultant.  Oh yes I did.  My friend Aleida finally talked me into it.  I got my startup package on Friday, and it felt like I was opening a big present, so many little goodies!  I am totally excited to get started.  I am trying EVERYTHING today, now that I am feeling a little better 🙂

Ryan took me shopping in Kelowna yesterday so I could find some professional-looking clothes for when I hold skin-care classes.  I have some “nice” clothes, but nothing “professional” looking.  Who knew that a pant suit would cost so bloody much?  The first few stores I went to, I almost cried – a blazer by itself cost anywhere between $100-$150, never mind a whole suit.  Then I spotted a Reitman’s…. thank goodness.  Ended up getting a blazer, pants and two blouses for $150.  The blazer is a little snug, but considering how much money I saved, I’ll deal with it 🙂  On a different kind of happy note, when I was trying on my clothes I had to ask one of the employees to bring me a SMALLER size of pants….  I’m down two sizes!

I’m trying not to get my hopes up, but I’m really excited to start my business up.  Make-up and skin care is right up my alley, always has been.  It would be just so great to be able to be a stay-at-home mom…. and think of all the expenses I get to write off!  Happy dance!

On a different note, today is my parents’ anniversary.  For the first time in I don’t know how many years, I finally bought them the kind of gift they deserve.  I can’t post it yet, but after I give it to them I will.  My dad is going to freak!

I better go for now, I’ve got a lot of work to do today.  Paperwork to sort, housework to catch up on, and of course some time for family fun…. it is the weekend, after all!

  1. oooh what is it what is it hu hu hu hu hu hu tell me tell me

    I’m done now 😀

  2. It was concert tickets for a country band they like and a gift certificate for dinner at a fancy restaurant – didn’t get quite the reaction I was hoping for (I did, however, get the “you spent too much” lecture from my dad!), but they seemed to appreciate it 🙂
